Reflex Integration
Reflex Integration Through Play
At In2Gr8 Pediatric Therapy, we offer specialized Reflex Integration services delivered through purposeful, play-based intervention. Primitive reflexes are automatic movement patterns present at birth that support early survival and development. As a child grows, these reflexes should integrate (or mature) to allow for higher-level motor control, emotional regulation, and learning. When reflexes remain active beyond infancy, they can interfere with coordination, posture, attention, handwriting, reading, and self-regulation. Our reflex integration approach addresses these foundational neurological patterns in a way that is engaging, individualized, and developmentally appropriate.
Our Play-Based Integration Approach
- Reflex integration should never feel clinical or rigid. At In2Gr8 Pediatric Therapy, we embed targeted reflex activities into meaningful, movement-based play.
- Treatment may include:
- Developmental movement patterns
- Core strengthening and postural activities
- Cross-body coordination tasks
- Vestibular and proprioceptive input
- Structured obstacle courses
- Functional skill integration (writing, dressing, classroom tasks)
- Each activity is carefully selected based on your child’s specific reflex profile and neurological presentation.
Why Integration Matters
- When primitive reflexes integrate properly, children often demonstrate improvements in:
- Attention and focus
- Emotional regulation
- Balance and coordination
- Postural control
- Motor planning
- Academic participation
- Overall confidence
- Rather than only managing behaviors, we work to address the neurological foundation influencing those behaviors.

What Makes Our Clinic Different
- Reflex integration is delivered by trained, experienced pediatric occupational therapists. Brittney is trained in Reflex Integration Through Play (RITP).
- We assess and treat underlying neurological patterns — not just symptoms
- Therapy is individualized and measurable
- We prioritize nervous system regulation and safety
- Parent education is incorporated for carryover at home
- Many clinics mention reflex integration, but true integration requires specific training, clinical reasoning, and intentional progression. We are committed to delivering this service with integrity and excellence.
What to Expect
- Your child’s journey begins with a comprehensive occupational therapy evaluation that includes reflex testing. From there, we create a personalized plan of care that integrates reflex work into functional, goal-driven therapy sessions and home programs for carry over.
- Progress is monitored regularly, and families receive clear guidance on how to support integration at home
