What It Is
- When an infant turns their head to one side, the arm and leg on that side extend while the opposite side bends.
- It should integrate by approximately 6 months.
When Retained, It May Contribute To:
Motor Signs
- Difficulty crossing midline
- Poor bilateral coordination
- Awkward running pattern
- Challenges catching a ball
Academic Signs
- Difficulty with handwriting
- Trouble copying from the board
- Loses place when reading
- Poor visual tracking
Postural Signs
- Slouches when writing
- Turns whole body instead of rotating trunk
